Lavender Walks

Visitors can walk for a mile around the four main lavender fields.There are a number of benches at intervals for those who wish to rest or contemplate the view. The fields are planted with six different varieties of lavender, all with slightly different colours, scents and flowering times. The lavender shows its first flush of colour in late May, and the harvest starts when it is in full flower in mid to late June. The duration of the harvest is just less than two months. The lavender is cut by hand and carried to the distillery or laid out on sheets to dry in the sun.
