Where is and how do I get to Jersey?
Jersey is an island of around 9 miles by 5 miles. It is just off the coast of France in the English Channel. Although close to France (Cherbourg peninsula), Jersey has strong links with the UK. It pays homage to the English Crown but has its own laws, government, and quirky customs.
You can fly to Jersey from many UK airports, or take a ferry from the southern UK ports of Weymouth and Portsmouth. The flight time from London Gatwick to Jersey is just 50 minutes. The fast ferry from Weymouth is 3 hours. See www.jersey.com for more information. You can also get to us from St. Malo in Brittany, which takes one hour by fast boat.
What is the best way to get around Jersey?
Cars can be hired from various reputable car-hire companies, or there is a bus service run by Liberty Bus. The multi-journey passes offer a cost-effective way of getting around the Island during your stay.
How do I get to Jersey Lavender?
We are located in the parish of St. Brelade in the south-west corner of Jersey – off the main road of the Rue du Pont Marquet (the B25) – about 5 miles from the main town, St. Helier. To see a map and obtain directions, click here.

What else is there to do in the Jersey Lavender Farm area?
You could easily plan a day out in the west of the island around our farm. We are close to many other fabulous places including St. Brelades Bay, Corbiere Lighthouse, St. Ouens Beach, St. Aubin Harbour, the coastal defences at Noirmont and we’re also near the railway walk and cycle track. As we’re only five minutes away from the airport, you could visit us on your way back home. We will happily look after any suitcases or bags during your visit.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Children should be accompanied by an adult while on the farm. We have some swings in our beautiful gardens, plus children can feed the chickens and doves. Our woodland and fields provide a safe place to walk and explore, too. At Sprigs Café, there are pictures for children to colour in, and high-chairs for little ones.
When is the best time to visit?
The lavender tends to show its colour in very late May. This builds in intensity, until we commence the lavender harvest in mid-late June. The exact date depends on how warm the spring weather is, and can vary by plus or minus three weeks. The time when the lavender is most colourful is late June to early July. By early August, the harvest is usually complete. From Mid June to end August, the distillery will be hard at work. There are fascinating talks about the processing of lavender at 11:30am and 3pm every day, which we strongly recommend attending.
Is there a Baby Change Facility?
Yes, our disabled toilet has a pull-down baby-changing table with disposable, hygienic paper coverings.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we welcome dogs as long as they are kept on a lead, kept under control and you pick up and dispose of anything your dog may leave behind! We have a farm dog, called Jumble, who may be around. He is very welcoming and loves meeting new furry friends! We also have a fluffy farm cat called Florrie.
Is there access for wheelchairs?
Yes, there is access to the shop, café and toilets. Wheelchairs can be pushed over grass around most of the gardens, and down to the distillery. There is a rural path which runs alongside our main lavender field. Other areas of the farm, such as the woodland, would be a bit too bumpy for wheelchairs.
Can we get lunch or drinks at the farm?
Our Café serves light lunches, cream teas and cakes.
Can we bring our own picnic?
We don’t have a specific picnic area. Because Sprigs Café serves such delicious food, there is no need to bring a picnic. We can provide takeaway drinks and sandwiches if you’d like to eat outside.
Can you recommend somewhere to stay in Jersey?
We suggest that you visit www.jersey.com. Alternatively, The Jersey Hospitality Association website has an extensive list of wonderful accommodation.
